  • E-news: Compiles and distributes bi-weekly e-news to PTA members.Chair:

  • Room Parent Coordinator: Responsible for disseminating PTA information to room parents. Facilitate volunteers for PTA events.  Plans orientation for room parents at beginning of school year. Chair: Melinda Katz melkatz98@gmail.com

 

 

  • Spring Fling: Similar to the Fall Festival, this family event takes place in March. Co-chairs: Jodi Rutigliano (jrutigliano@pscnow.com) & Chrissy Eisert (chrissy.eisert@newellco.com)

 

  • Golf Tournament: If you love golf, this event is for you. Help plan and organize KSE’s annual golf excursion, which is held in May. Co-chairs: Chris Vreeland chrisvreeland@bellsouth.net , Mark Milliron (chefmilliron@yahoo.com) & Bruce Blumberg bruce@bellaspizzeria.com  

 

 

  • Donations Coordinator: This volunteer solicits businesses for KSE donations. They maintain contact with current sponsors and finds ways to reward them, in addition to finding new PTA sponsors. Chair: Mary Campbell (mkyler@ford.com

 

  • Membership: If you have a knack for organization, you belong here. Duties include compiling PTA membership list for e-news chair, working the membership sign-up table at school events, and completing monthly reports for the state PTA.   • By-Laws/JCC Rep: The volunteer in this role keeps the PTA board informed of issues, is familiar with PTA by-laws, attends monthly JCC meetings, and ensures that PTA officers abide by the laws of our unit. Representative: Mardell Artis (martis@charter.net  )

 

  • Cultural Arts Day: This popular school-wide arts event showcases artists of all mediums, many of whom are parent and teacher volunteers. The committee works with our art and music teachers to plan and organize a fun event for the students, and a luncheon for the artists. Takes place in April. Chair: Wendy Meyer (inyouwendo@mindspring.com )

 

  • Science Day: Chair: Similar to Cultural Arts Day, but highlights the wonders of science. Takes place in April, alternating yearly with Cultural Arts Day. Chair: Lisa McKinley (McKinley.Lisa@epamail.epa.gov) and Mardell Artis (martis@charter.net )

 

  • Read Across America: Everyone loves Dr. Seuss! Help celebrate his birthday (March 2) by organizing a school-wide event that features uniformed volunteers reading in classrooms. Chair: Sarah Onsager (sonsager@mindspring.com )

 

  • Yearbook: If you love photography, this committee is for you. Volunteers on this committee take photos at school events, documenting all of KSE’s happenings. Other duties include managing yearbook conception, distribution and sales. Co-chairs: Christy Scofield (christy_scofield@yahoo.com) & Vonda Rogers (vonda.rogers@respironics.com )

 

  • Environmental Education: Come play in the dirt. This committee helps maintain student-grown gardens and works with teachers to provide lesson plans to be used in conjunction with the gardens. Chair: Cheryl Carson (cheryl.carson@charter.net )

 

  • Health & Fitness: This committee is passionate about healthy families. They plan walk to school days and family fitness events, and invite local businesses to participate. Let’s get moving!   • Reflections: This national arts program gives students the chance to show their creativity in six different areas, and then submit their work to be judged. This committee works with the school’s art teacher, plans information nights, and informs the school of any student awards. Chair: Sherry Stoichev (sherry.stoichev@suntrust.com)

 

  • Media Center: This committee helps manage the Rocket Reader program and provides support to the Media Center. Chair: Danette Wile (fourwilebears@charter.net)

 

  • Spirit Wear: Help promote the Pride! This committee sells KSE T-shirts at PTA events, sends out order forms twice yearly, and distributes orders. Co-chairs: Jennifer Williams (jennifer.williams@wendysarbys.com )

 

  • Red Ribbon Week: The volunteers on this committee find creative ways to help students “just say no to drugs!” They work with the school nurse and counselors to plan daily activities. Usually held the last week of October. Co-chairs: Tiffany Holland (cholla4@bellsouth.net) & Sharon Johnson (johnson1573@bellsouth.net

 

  • Clean Air: The Clean Air committee wants our children to breathe easy. They’re responsible for educating the school about ways to make the air safer. Chair: Lisa McKinley (lamckinley@yahoo.com )

 

  • Georgia Natural Gas: Attends PTA events and informs parents how signing up for GNG benefits our school. Chair: Michelle Lavender (michelle.lavender@turner.com)

 

 

  • Box Tops: The box tops coordinator advertises upcoming contests and deadlines to school, and works with the sponsor liaison to collect prizes for contests. Chair: Aleah Morrow (aleahmorrow@hotmail.com)

 

  • Recycling: The recycling committee educates the school about the benefits of recycling. They ensure that recycling bins are in the school lobby. Chair: Kinda Blomberg (kindakay@aol.com)

 

  • Publix Cards & Target Visa: This committee is responsible for informing school about the benefits of Publix cards and Target Visas. They work a table at PTA events. Chair: Heidi McCravy (heidimccravy@bellsouth.net )

 

  • Field Day: This committee works with the P.E. teachers to plan an all-day, school-wide fun and fitness day. The event takes place in May. Co-chairs: Carrie Battaglia (cebattaglia@gmail.com) & Lily Pabian (lilyan@mindspring.com )

 

  • Glazy Dazy Fundraiser: This committee coordinates KSE fundraisers held at Glazy Dazy. Chair: Lisa Miller (lmiller@acuitasinc.com )

 

  • Sparkles Nights: This committee coordinates KSE nights at Sparkles. Chair: E’lice Mitchell (elice@the-mitchells.org)

 

  • Sponsor/Restaurant Nights: These volunteers work with the PTA president and restaurants to schedule monthly restaurant nights.   • Copy Cats: This group helps teachers by making copies on a weekly basis. Chair: Kimberly Blumberg (kimberly@lakob.com)

 

  • Coke Rewards: This committee informs the school about the Coke Rewards program. They’re responsible for collecting points and submitting them. Chair: Marie Stockton (marie.wade.stockton@gmail.com )

 

  • Communications Coordinator: This person keeps the communication flowing. She informs other committees of the procedures and deadlines necessary for requesting volunteers and submitting information for e-news, among other duties. Chair: Alice Turner (alicemturner@yahoo.com )
